Day 3:
MAY MONSTER MADNESS
Blog Hop!

May Monster Madness Blog Hop

I am so excited to be taking part in the annual May Monster Madness Blog Hop for 2013! Brought to you by Annie Walls (Author), Emma from Little Gothic Horrors, and Ked from Something Wicked this Way Comes...

This is probably my favourite post because music is so important to me. Plus it took FOREVER to choose all these songs! Some of them aren't showing up which is a bit of a bummer, but this will give you a feel.

I have created a Soundtrack for the fictional May Monster Madness film!

These are the songs I would use for a modern monster movie soundtrack. Please take the time to listen to a few as they all mean something to me. I know it's unrealistic (seen as though there are a few) for you to listen to them all, but if you want to, you could keep the site open in the background, crack open a beer and listen while you cruse the other amazing sites on the hop!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all enjoy!

Now I have to ask - why are you having difficulty leaving comments on my blog? Are you getting an error, or is it just not posting, or what?

    Thanks!

  7. Well I'm only on the first track and have to say I like your taste. It's such a haunting sound and the singer's voice is beautiful. I'm going to have to listen to rest later because I have a word count to make and it's not really the right ambience for what I'm writing :), but I shall come back.

  10. Ben, you make one helluva music compilation! I want it! How do I get it? Seriously... shah wharton at gmail dot com - Please let me know. Something other than finding and downloading them all separately would be best, but if that's the only way *sigh, it's gonna happen! Thanks so much!!!

  11. What a great idea - music is so important for creating mood in movies. I think I need this soundtrack to listen to while writing my horror stories.

  12. You've made some great choices.

I write soundtracks for the novels I write. Music is extremely important for setting the mood and getting to the emotional core of the story.

    1. Most of the Authors I know (not all of them though) have soundtracks. It's one of those interesting things about the writing process... some Authors can't stand to have any noise what-so-ever while creating. And others, they can't write without it!
Thanks so much for hopping here!

  13. Hey Ben!

Due to some tech issues I'm gonna have to try this listen again on another computer but I'm seriously looking forward to it! I love Halloween music and have my own soundtrack I made for myself which I listen to every year whilst carving pumpkins and I'm sure there's gonna be a decent amount of overlap. Great choice to feature music!

  16. You're so right -- both music and a great soundtrack are imperative for a Horror movie. When a movie is getting too scary for me, I don't cover my eyes, I turn off the sound. Without the soundtrack, it's much less scary! :-)

    1. I learned that trick in my early teens while at a mates place watching Nightmare on Elm Street... I was FREAKING out so covered my ears (subtly so I was still cool!) and it became much less impacting. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit, it really is appreciated. :-)
